Troop Meeting

When:  7:00 to 8:00 pm

Attendance:  Dawson, Eric, Hayden, Jason, Jonah, Nathan, Neal, Nico, Stevie, Wyatte, Br. Snelding, & Br. Stratton

This was Brother Snelding's last meeting before he was released.  We enjoyed a pizza party and games.

Friends of Scouting

Time:  1:00 to 3:00 pm

Where: Chapel at Alexander & El Capitan

Attendance:  Eric, Neal, Nico, Stevie, Br. Snelding, & many other scouts and leaders from other troops

Requirements:

• Participate in an approved (minimum of one hour) service project.  (Second Class, 5)
• Since joining, have participated in five separate troop/patrol activities (other than troop/patrol meetings), two of which included camping over night.  (Second Class, 3a)
• Since joining, have participated in ten separate troop/patrol activities (other than troop/patrol meetings), three of which included camping over night.  Demonstrate the principles of Leave No Trace on these outings.  (First Class, 3a)

Requirement:  Discuss when you should and should not use lashings.  Then demonstrate tying the timber hitch and clove hitch and their use in square, shear, and diagonal lashings by joining two or more poles or staves together.  (First Class, 7a)

Requirements:  Demonstrate tying the bowline knot and describe several ways it can be used (First Class, 8a)
